hi Elaine - thanks for this, one of the best I have read, although of course I try to practice it all, it is good to be reminded, especially for me about corn and soybean oils not being so great; I am obsessed with grapefruit and have been for months; 2 per day often; just love them, and no I don't take any statins or coumadin drugs that might conflict. I don't think I am in for heart disease, but INFLAMMATION is the cause of everything bad, including Alzheimer's, allergies and arthritis. So, on we go. Thank you, sending you much love and blessings and good luck in the Year of the SNAKE!

Thank you so much for the encouragement, please be careful with the grapefruit: one serving of grapefruit a day please, and eat it with avocado and you don't even need anything else (but fresh mint or terragon is nice on top) also shrimp is a great add on (you can buy frozen cooked shrimp and defrost them in a few hours spread out on a plastic wrap lined cutting board). I put this combo over some lettuce leaves. I'm a pink grapefruit fanatic and eat them a few times a week I buy 2 at the farmer's market every week.

Did you know that the way to pick citrus fruit is by weight? The heavier the fruit the sweeter and juicier the fruit.
    Thanks again Vicki,

My mother cooks with chickpea flour and fava-bean flour and millet flour, it's part of our traditional cooking.

Elaine I just read your EACH PEACH NEWSLETTER: This is such a beautiful evocation of the peach and of your father --creating his multi-variety fruit tree before anyone else did. A marvel, I see an amazed child admiring in the garden catalogs.
You actually grew up with that!
I love your idea of peach, coconut lavender ice cream.

Before I got this was going to write you that it took all this time for me to get watercress!. I got it today and we had the cilantro, watercress, lemon & honey salad.
YUM! I didn't do much and J. got most of it before I got to it. He loved it.
    Will make much more.

Every single recipe I have used on this site was easy peasy, delicious and has made me aware of things I've been eating when I eat out that I'm allergic to but didn't realize contained wheat. Thank you, I can just imagine all the work this has taken to develop these recipes and tips.
